Victim Narrative Ass

This ass is always, in every story, the one it happened to. No matter the situation, the roles are fixed: they are the wounded party, and someone, somewhere, usually you, is the cause. Their empathy flows freely and exclusively toward themselves. Bring them your problem and they will find, within moments, the precise way it is actually harder for them. They have survived things, they will remind you, which is exactly why they cannot possibly be expected to consider that they occasionally cause them. A permanent protagonist of their own suffering, casting everyone around them as supporting antagonists, and genuinely wounded that the world will not hold still and applaud.
