This ass did not change the plan. The plan simply became aware of them and adjusted, out of self-preservation. Events that were proceeding perfectly normally have been permanently reclassified as stories. The venue had policies. The policies had not accounted for this specific variable. By the end of the night somebody had cried in a good way, a stranger had made a decision they will describe as spontaneous for the rest of their life, and the DJ played the same song twice because nobody could bear for it to end. They arrived, and the evening quietly agreed to become the best one of the year. A force of nature with a drink in hand and absolutely nowhere to be tomorrow.
