This ass will tell you their pace before they tell you their name, and honestly they consider the pace the more important of the two. Introductions go sideways fast. You will learn their threshold, their long-run average, and their marathon PR before you learn whether they have any other interests at all, which they do not. Strip away the splits and there is a quiet, echoing room where a personality should be, furnished entirely with race bibs. They are a very fast person and, underneath that, almost exclusively a very fast person. A human being who fully merged with their own training log and could not be more thrilled about the arrangement.
