This ass would sooner die than let the watch catch them standing still. A red light is a moral crisis. A crosswalk is a betrayal. If the timer pauses, the run is tainted, the data corrupted, the entire soul of the effort thrown into question. They will jog in a tiny, frantic circle at an intersection rather than permit a single second of stillness to enter the record. Rest is failure. Motion is virtue. Somewhere a small screen is judging them, and they have decided it is right to. A machine's most loyal servant, shuffling in place at a curb so that history remembers them as a person who never, ever slowed.
